Basic news:

Josiah has been working at Flying Labs for a while now and they recently shipped Pirates of the Burning Sea. He’s liking Seattle but I think he needs a girlfriend.

Heather is settling into the neighborhood. She’s bartering gardening and babysitting for singing lessons and deep massage.

Jordan recently won a human rights award for his creative work in Thailand. He’s working on some scripts and working towards directing his first feature film.

Jazz is racing Patrick to get published. She’s working on a children’s book, it’s pretty amazing.

Levi has got a mobile phone. We tried to hide him from the 21’st century but to no avail. He has lots of ‘friends’ now.

Patrick has been working on a screenplay, Yep, following on a new teaching about Content Development, he’s putting his keyboard where his mouth is.

He is also continuing to teach around the world, but on a scaled back schedule. The idea is to put the creativity to work towards a new level of authority (Lord willing) so that he can continue to give something meaningful back out.

We are learning:

Maturing gifts is kinda like growing grapes. Sometimes the year yields a good vintage, sometimes not. Overall, it’s the quality of the product over the years that counts. This year seems like a tough time, but it will bear better fruit next season. I think.

Extended family is probably the closest we get to God’s original idea in the garden. Large meals and long conver-sations under the fig tree... The more I look at the dynamics of a healthy nation, it always seems to come back to a healthy extended family dynamic.

When all the right circumstances and attitudes line up, God follows through on promises and good intentions laid dow years before. Being consistent and ready is what keeps us in the game, God always comes through (A lesson learned through the tears of seeing Josiah off in Seattle).

Kids hurt: It used to be so easy, a bath and some food every now and then and life was sweet. Now kids require emotional space, God like listening powers and the ability to absorb the struggle of them growing up through us. Ouch a lot!

It doesn’t take two people to work 50 hours per week to pay the bills. A simpler style of living means less work and more time for family...
